Chemical Adsorber Cartridge

The Hunter Chemical adsorber cartridge filter provides high-efficiency, single-pass filtration of gas-phase contaminants. The filters are designed to remove gaseous chemical agents and is designed for use in new and existing commercial HVAC systems, over-pressurization systems, and negative air isolation systems that demand highly efficient chemical filtration along with low pressure drop.

Features:

  • High flow design at 500 feet per minute
  • Low air resistance at 0.25” w.c. per pleated pack (see Table 2)
  • High adsorber capacity at 30,000 Ct for a six pack configuration
  • Low unit cost as compared to traditional packed bed adsorbers
  • Light weight as compared to traditional packed bed adsorbers
The Hunter cartridge filter uses the same carbon media developed for use by the US military for the filtration of gas agents and compounds used in chemical warfare. The militarygrade ASZM-TEDA carbon media is designed to remove a broad range of chemical agents. The Hunter chemical adsorber cartridge filter is manufactured using deep pleated carbon media housed in a modular corrosion resistant 16 ga. galvanized steel housing. These units are available in four standard sizes to fit most popular commercial HVAC filter compartments. Depending upon site requirements and desired adsorber capacity, the Hunter ChemPak™ is available in three depth configurations from 16" to 24". The ChemPak™ is installed by simply sliding the unit into the existing filter compartment.

Hunter chemical adsorber cartridge filters are manufactured under rigorous quality control procedures. Each adsorber cartridge filter is tested and packaged in accordance with applicable sections of IEST-CC-RP-008-84. Additionally, each production lot is subjected to a random selection of adsorber. The selected adsorber will be destructively challenged at >99.99% efficient for more than 20 minutes when with a minimum of 5,000 mg/m3 dimethylmethylphosphonate (DMMP). DMMP is a chemical agent similar in composition to Sarin and is currently used by the United States Army to measure ultra-high efficiency carbon adsorber life.

Specifications:
PDF Datasheet
Specification for the adsorber is based on the maximum required air flow in cfm [Flow from Table 1] at inches of water gauge pressure resistance [DP from Table 2]. The depth of the unit is based on the number of carbon media packs [Depth from Table 2].
