This 200-cfm filter unit is designed specifically to address concerns by the civilian population. Based on technology developed by Hunter for military use, this unit includes a gas and particulate filter with reduced capacity and reduced pressure drop. The internal filter components are designed based on the military M98 200-cfm filter set but with an immobilized ASZM-TEDA carbon bed. The particulate element will remove radiological, biological and chemical agents in an aerosol or particle form in efficiency greater than 99.97 percent at 0.3 microns while the immobilized carbon bed will remove chemical agents in vapor form. A 12-vdc motor with a high performance fan assembly is integrated into the filter housing providing the airflow and pressure required to overcome the filter pressure loss, as well as providing the positive pressure required to protect the occupants of a protective enclosure. The unit can be connected to an automotive type battery (not provided), and with the use of a standard automotive battery charger create a 110-vac/12-vdc back-up system.
