General Product Description
The H20GPFU-24 CBRN filtration system is the largest of the two individual distribution CBRN systems used by the US military today. In the H20GPFU-24, a filter unit supplies filtered air via hoses to vehicle crewmembers, providing individuals with protection against CBRN agents.

The H20GPFU-24 is in use by the U.S. Army for over 30 years. It is used as a backup CBRN system in many armored vehicles such as the M1A2 and as a primary system in vehicles when positive cabin pressure cannot be maintained such as the Piranha, LAV, IFV and M109. Each H20GPFU-24 provides purified air for up to five people when used in conjunction with protective masks. Multiple H20GPFU-24 filter systems may be used when greater than five people require protection (IFV).

The H20GPFU-24 filter system consists of a Precleaner and particulate filter assembly, M3 heaters, hose assemblies, and installation hardware. The Precleaner, contains the blower, dust separator, and HF20P particulate filter. Two HF10G gas filters are used in conjunction with the main Precleaner unit.

The H20GPFU-24 system is mounted inside the vehicle. Contaminated air is pulled into the Precleaner unit and passes through an HF20P particulate filter. The HF20P removes toxic particles and aerosols at an efficiency rate of 99.97% at .3 microns.

The air flows out of the Precleaner unit to one or two HF10G gas filters, which remove gaseous contaminants from the air stream. Lastly, the purified air is distributed via a network of ducts and hoses to the individual crewmember.

The M3 Heaters, located between the distribution duct and the last segment of hose prior to the final connection to the mask, warms the air to comfortable levels during cold weather operation.
