HUNTER MANUFACTURING EXPANDS EFFORTS IN HOMELAND SECURITY

(December 14, 2005; Solon, Ohio) - Focusing their efforts on increasing homeland security defense systems around the U.S., Hunter Manufacturing Company is concentrating on expanding the H200-GPFU gas particulate filter units into more non-military markets.

"We have noticed that more and more corporations, such as financial and insurance institutions, and non-military departments of the government, are interested in taking preemptive measures to secure the safety of vital information and their personnel," said Jack Custer, vice president of sales and marketing at Hunter. "Unfortunately, we live in unsafe times where chemical or biological attacks from terrorists are a very real possibility - we have the responsibility to be prepared."

The chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) H200-GPFU filter unit is designed to remove toxic chemical and biological warfare agents in gaseous and aerosol forms from the air. By creating a positive pressure environment, the filter creates a toxic free area (TFA), delivering 200-cfm of clean air to personnel and equipment. Previously, these units were solely used on military vehicles and shelters with minimum size, weight and power requirements. Recent adaptations to the filter units have been made to protect sections of non-military buildings in response to increased homeland security efforts.

Each CBRN collective protection filtration system has a High Efficiency Particulate Air filter (HEPA) included for the removal of aerosol and microbiological agents such as bacteria, fungi and some viruses at an average size of 0.3 microns. The H200-GPFU can also be mounted horizontally or vertically to a wall and its filters can be easily replaced.;

"Hunter is taking proactive steps in adopting our CBRN filters and filter systems to meet the growing need for building protection for various homeland defense applications," said Custer. "We want our products to be readily available to those organizations taking these necessary protective measures."

Established in 1937, Hunter Manufacturing Company is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of heating equipment and CBRN air filters and filtration systems for military and non-military applications. All Hunter products are designed and produced in compliance with U.S. military and Department of Defense specifications.
