Hunter Military Products Introduces New Non-Powered Convective Tent Heater(July 6, 2005; Solon, Ohio) - Hunter Manufacturing's Military Products has released a new series of non-powered convective space heaters designed to provide safe, breathable heated air to tents and other temporary field shelters. Hunter Military Products engineers designed the innovative SHC (Space Heater Convective) heaters using an integral thermoelectric generator to provide power for combustion and for the air circulating fan. This innovative use of thermoelectric power generation eliminates the need for a separate generator which means the installation is extremely quiet allowing soldiers to perform their duties or rest comfortably without being bothered by the noise created by a generator.The unique combustion chamber design allows the SHC heaters to be deployed either inside or outside of the tent or shelter depending on the installation circumstances. The integrated remote control module allows personnel to start or stop unit as well as control the temperature within the tent or structure. The new SHC-60 heater will produce 60,000 BTU/hr and is designed specifically for larger tents and shelters. The SHC-35 will produce 35,000 BTU/hr at a flow rate of 300 cfm. Both SHC heaters burn either diesel fuels or JP8. The new SHC heaters is small, lightweight and can be easily loaded, unloaded and deployed in a matter of minutes. Installation is simple requiring only the connection to the fuel source and attachment of the air ducts. Like all Hunter heaters the SHC series heaters require very little maintenance, are light weight for ease of handling and provides the highest degree of reliability even in the most demanding deployment conditions.
